The First Step

The First Step

My life story has stuff that can rival any TV soap.

I got pregnant and cried like crazy because my child’s father walked out on me and my dreams crumbled right before my eyes.  Little did I know that what I saw as the greatest obstacle turned out to be the greatest blessing.

I left a 9-5 corporate job and was jobless for a couple of months.  Then I discovered the Internet, and all its amazing power.

I got hooked!

So what got me started? I wasn’t even tech-savvy and still have to sit very still to churn out credible code.  I was nearly bankrupt and I have a daughter to feed and care for, not to mention debts to pay so I can get a better credit report.  I couldn’t even afford a roof over our own heads!

WHAT I DID

So what I did was…..

Pool whatever resources I had left

Signed up for online jobs and submitted my portfolio to employers online while on the side, I wanted to find means to augment whatever income I may earn.

THINGS STARTED TO GET BETTER

I am forever indebted to my first online Employer for helping me get started online.  His patience and guidance immensely helped and inspired me to become a better person and to readily start from scratch.

LEARNING TO REBUILD MYSELF

Seeing oneself as broken glass wouldn’t bring you anywhere near your goals.  I always wake up realizing I am truly on my way to rebuild my dreams and my life for my daughter.

I call this my accidental vocation.

The road to rebuilding one’s career and one’s life is challenging, but fun if you discover your passion and use it to fuel your dreams.

YOU CAN DO IT

There are millions of chances given to us every single day and all we have to do is grab whatever wins your heart over.

I couldn’t discount the help of my friends, colleagues and family.  But if I didn’t take heart and welcome the challenge to live a better life, I wouldn’t know how my life and my daughter’s turned out to be.

If I can do it, so can you.

JUST TAKE HEART and give it your best shot !!!

  1. Mam, that was really amazing, this is the first time I’ve heard your story since we first met. I am also indebted to you, since you gave me an opportunity. I am very happy with all the blessings you have and I know that God will guide you in your every endeavor.
